It gets its name from the dense, microscopic needles of rutile inside the stone that look like soft, fine animal fur. The "furry" inclusions range in color. The most popular are white, red, and yellow, though rarer shades like purple and green also exist. Unlike standard rutilated quartz (which has thick, defined golden or black needles), rabbit hair features hair-like strands that are extremely fine and interwoven.
